Wireless Logic has overhauled its M2M SIM control platform with a host of new functions, including the remote configuration of new settings onto a SIM.
The SIMPro platform is aimed at enterprises and allows them to monitor data usage and activity on each SIM. The vendor said more than one million SIM-enabled devices, including traffic cameras, vending machines and patient monitors, are managed by the platform currently.
The new remote configuration service saves enterprises time because it reduces the time is takes to configure SIMs to specific profiles, the vendor said.
Other new features include it being able to use the platform with the company’s private network overlay to give real-time analytics and spot unusual patterns of data activity.
Further, the platform can be used along with the company’s recently launched MapPro mapping extension, which enterprises can bundle into SIM subscriptions or offer as a standalone map.
Enterprises can access SIMs across all of Europe’s networks and through Inmarsat Satellite, with enterprises able to integrate the service into their own systems using a set of APIs.
Philip Cole, Wireless Logic’s European Sales Director and Co-Founder, said: “The major changes across our provisioning platform have resulted from a significant customer engagement programme to identify areas for improvement. The latest incarnation of SIMPro is a complete re-development of previous versions with a greater emphasis on the customer experience. It works equally as well with multiple SIM estates as well as smaller scale deployments where real-time monitoring of high-data use SIMs is vital.”
The M2M market is set to pass through the quarter of a billion connections mark this year, according to GSMA. M2M accounts for 2.8 percent of all mobile connections, double what its share was in 2010.
