Vodafone Ireland offers help to businesses keen to launch IoT

    -

Vodafone Ireland has launched a new service for enterprises to launch and scale SIM-based IoT networks.

Vodafone IoT Express allows businesses to manage their IoT projects through a software-defined networking platform from Asavie.

Customers can track and control their IoT devices throughout any of Vodafone’s global markets. Among the real-time features of the platform is alerting enterprises to unusual activity, issuing reports on performance and data consumption, and setting up new subscriptions.

The operator said the service can tap into its NB-IoT network, which it launched in September last year, and will be targeted at businesses seeking to trial the IoT or develop their own products.

It is the latest project where Vodafone has partnered with Asavie, which operates in the enterprise mobility and IoT connectivity space.

In March the companies launched a SIM-based security product for enterprises that blocks malicious sites before they are accessed.

Debbie Power, Vodafone Ireland, IoT Country Manager, said: “This new offering makes it easier than ever for companies of all sizes to quickly rollout their innovative IoT projects, benefit from the advances in deployment and gain the intelligence needed to drive their business decisions.

“Vodafone IoT Express delivers a secure and scalable on-demand IoT service to all customers in a very cost effective way.”

Vodafone Ireland is currently working on improving its LTE networks and preparing for 5G after receiving a €140 million loan from the European Investment Bank in March.
