    -

Vodafone Deutschland has completed 1,300 LTE deployments in the first 100 days of 2019.

It has connected more than 400,000 Germans to the LTE network for the first time. The operator has also improved the speed and capacity for a further 3 million people in the same period of time.

This has been achieved by Vodafone operating 600 new LTE stations nationwide since the beginning of the year, and installing an additional 700 antennas at existing sites.

Vodafone says a total of 1,235 communities in cities, including Bremen, Essen and Frankfurt, and rural communities, in the districts of Würzburg, Euskirchen and Bad Kissingen, will benefit from the expansion.

    Three antennas an hour

The operator also stated that by September, it will have coverage of 95% of the country. The goal is to bring new LTE antennas online every three hours by the end of the year.

More than 4,000 construction projects are planned for completion during to get rid of dead spots and increase LTE’s capacity and surfing speeds on the Vodafone network.

Vodafone will commission a total of 2,800 new LTE stations in areas that have not yet been supplied with LTE.

Currently, Vodafone reaches around 77.5 million Germans with its LTE network, which equates to about 93.5% of the population.

The network was awarded a “very good” score of 1.44 in the April edition of CHIP magazine: Vodafone recently activated LTE 800 technology at more than 90% of sites and it will be installed at a further 2,000 locations by the end of 2019.
