UK-based firm to offer connectivity-as-a-service (CaaS) to streamline delivery of multi-tenanted, high-capacity coverage.
It will use Mavenir’s virtualised RAN (vRAN) to host multiple networks on the same IT infrastructure for 4G and 5G connectivity for new customers. The platform uses dynamic RAN optimisation.
“Mobile network operators…will…benefit from this product, since we believe it will allow them to densify the deployment of network coverage and capacity, where it is most needed – indoors,” stated Sean Keating, CEO of Vilicom. The company has worked with mobile operators for two decades.
The CaaS is also designed for property developers, landlords and other organisations wishing to provide reliable mobile connectivity on their properties.

Mavenir has pioneered indoor vRAN solutions, for example, working closely with BT Wholesale at Adastral Park to develop a multi-tenanted vRAN indoor solution, which BT demonstrated in March 2019 at the BT Tower in London.
