Mobile Europe caught up with Telenor Norway CTO Frode Støldal at this month’s Small Cells World Summit to discuss the operator’s use of the technology.
He speaks to editor Graeme Neill about how Telenor is using a mixture of small cells, fibre and the cloud to connect enterprises, the key thing holding back operators from a full scale deployment of small cells and gives his thoughts on small cells as a service.
Støldal said: “What we are seeing in Norway today is a fantastic demand for connectivity and data. What we are using small cells for is to really to solve indoor coverage challenges.”
Later this week, you can see Støldal’s thoughts on the LTE market and the launch of the iPhone 5 led to a complete change in its 4G strategy.
