Telia has acquired the Swedish mobile operator Fello as of July 1, citing an ongoing demand for “stripped down” services.
Gothenburg-based Fello launched in 2013 and ran its services using Telia’s network. It has seven employees. Telia plans to retain the Fello brand and says Fello’s 45,000 customers won’t be affected by the change.
“We are very happy about the transaction. Fello AB is an innovative company with a strong brand that has grown rapidly and doubled its customer base since 2018,” said. Andreas Ekström, Head of Commercial Business for Telia Sweden.
He added, “We see continued interest in stripped-down services and Fello AB will complement our existing activities in new areas in a positive way. We look forward to welcome all employees within Fello AB to Telia.”
Telia says the deal does not require approval from the Competition Authority.
