The Swiss operator says its Salt Home offer is now available to more than 2 million – about 50% of – households.
Salt says its Gigabox is an alternative to fiber broadband connection, using its 5G and 4G+ mobile network. Gigabox combines an outdoor 4G&5G antenna and a router with Wi-Fi 6 technology.
Salt says is easy to install and “customers will benefit from an excellent indoor reception and will be able to reach download speeds up to 1Gbit/sec over the 5G mobile network and up to 400Mb/sec over the 4G+ network”.
The Salt Home Gigabox offer includes Internet, TV and an Apple TV 4K as set-top box at an unmatched price of CHF 39.95 (€37.17) per month for Salt Mobile customers.
Wider availability
Before FWA, Salt Home was available via FTTH in more than 200 municipalities throughout the country, including major Swiss cities – like Zürich, Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Bern, Luzern, St. Gallen, Fribourg and Lugano – with a potential reach of a third of Swiss households.
The new Gigabox solution means Salt Home is available to more than 50% of Swiss households or more than 2 million households. The availability in households is subject to a good coverage in the region and will increase as the 5G rollout evolves.
Basic Salt TV packages are available in French, German and Italian with more than 250 channels. Customers can also choose from several Premium TV packages through partnership with Canal+, and Sky, 7 international TV packages, video-on-demand (Salt Video) and kids programmes.
