Polish Internet of Things provider Netemera is planning to roll out the country’s first nationwide LoRa network.
The company is working with IoT vendor Kerlink on the project, which is a founding member of the LoRa Alliance.
It said its Network for Machines solution would enable Polish companies to deliver the likes of smart metering, air-quality monitoring, fleet tracking, as well as smart parking, lighting and asset tracking.
Warsaw and the city’s suburbs have already been connected. Work is underway on connecting a further 15 cities and then onto other parts of the country according to demand.

Laurent Thiriaux, CEO of Netemera, said: “Netemera’s Network for Machines already supports several proofs of concept in the field of smart cities, metering and tracking solutions, and offers opportunities for IoT vendors and application developers to test new products and apps.”
Netemera added that it wanted to work with manufacturers, researchers, solution providers and start-ups to broaden the range of products and services available for the network.
The company claims to be Poland’s first dedicated IoT provider, offering hardware, software and APIs.
Last month, Telenor launched a LoRa-based IoT platform for start-ups to innovate new kinds of products and services.
Orange also announced new LoRa-connected products last month as part of its Hello innovation show.
