More changes at the top in Orange as the CEO of Orange Moldova moves to lead the opco in Slovakia from 1 April
Mariusz Gatza, the current CEO of Orange Moldova has been appointed CEO of Orange Slovakia, effective from 1 April 2022. He will take over from Federico Colom and continue convergence efforts in the Slovak market.
His appointment follows his successful tenure as Orange Moldova’s CEO and also 20 years’ experience at Orange Polska. He held various senior positions at the company, including Deputy CEO in charge of the business and consumer markets. He was also responsible for introducing major innovative offers like Orange Love and Orange Flex.
Gatza holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic of Bydgoszcz, studied Management at Warsaw University and completed an MBA at the University of Illinois.
He stated,“Sustainable growth is key in our industry. We are able to achieve this through satisfied customers and the deployment of meaningful innovations in our comprehensive offering, such as 5G, smart services or cybersecurity.”
Outgoing CEO Federico Colom commented, “With the ongoing transformation of the company, it is the time to take it to the next level and implement a new vision. I believe this change will bring a new impulse to the company and I would like to thank my team for their support during my tenure.”
Orange owns 100% of Orange Slovakia, whose mobile network covers 99% of the population and has almost 3 million customers, making it the largest in the country.
It has also launched commercial operation of FTTH, providing digital TV, fixed phone line for free and broadband, pursuing its group-wide goal of offering converged services.
