The platform is central to Orange Business’ initiative to leverage cloud tech and digitalise all services to enterprises
Orange and its enterprise unit, Orange Business had a super-busy day yesterday, of which more shortly. Orange Business’ activities included announcing that it will offer Flexible SD-WAN from VMware as the first fully embedded SD-WAN offering in Evolution Platform. Evolution Platform combines secure digital infrastructure with a cloud-like approach to order and manage services.
Cloud-like and digital-first
This part of Orange Business’ move to change how it provides services with its partners, natively and digitally via Evolution Platform from which enterprise customers can configure services to meet their business requirements “benefiting from the performance of the Orange world-class infrastructure and global expertise,” according to the operator.
Enterprises access a catalogue of products via a self-service console or through an API using Evolution Platform. Automation and service chaining in the platform simplify management of each customer’s digital infrastructure for secure user-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud connectivity, as well as for voice services.
Orange Business says customers have end-to-end visibility and service guarantees.
Revamping the remote
Flexible SD-WAN provides automation capabilities and optimised user experience when accessing remote applications with the aim of boosting employees’ productivity. Organisations can bring up sites faster, using 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi or satellite for harder to reach locations. Edge devices are automatically provisioned to lower IT costs and deployment times.
Orange Business customers consuming Flexible SD-WAN with VMware via Evolution Platform will benefit from a global network of Super Points of Presence (PoPs). The Super PoPs are strategically located on the Orange Tier 1 global backbone, close to the customer and cloud providers. The aim is to lowering latency for applications and services, and provide business agility.
