    Nokia partners with Flash Networks to deliver web and video optimisation

    Nokia Networks will include Flash Networks’ Harmony Gateway as part of its mobile broadband core network offering, after forming a partnership with the company. 

    Flash Networks’ technology will be used for mobile web and video optimisation for high performance mobile broadband networks to provide faster browsing and download speeds, improved video viewing and content control services.

    Flash said its Harmony optimisation tool doubles average mobile access speeds, whilst reducing network load by 30 percent.

    Its Gateway sits at the core of networks to accelerate LTE services, whilst also providing operators with traffic analytics and user insights.

    In doing so, operators are able to an “enhanced browsing experience” and generate revenue OTT content and targeted advertising.

    Ran Fridman, Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Sales at Flash Networks, said: “Thanks to the partnership we will be able to expand our market reach while helping operators improve their network performance in a cost effective way by better utilising their existing network capacity.”

    The agreement is part of Nokia’s ongoing partnership programme, announced in September, which saw the vendor launch a new business unit and open its doors to outside partners.
