    Nexmo targets enterprise app market with Three UK

    Cloud communications company Nexmo has teamed up with Three to offer OTT APIs to UK enterprises.

    Nexmo’s cloud-to-mobile services allow app developers, online businesses and enterprises to reach consumers and devices by using the company’s Cloud APIs to develop text messaging and voice products.
     

    According to research house Kable, the global enterprise apps market is set to grow at a CAGR of 9.2 percent between 2014 and 2018, with the retail market dominating spending.

    US-based Nexmo said its direct-to-carrier model reduces latency and offers enterprises adaptive routing and real-time analytics for partners.

    The vendor welcomed signing up with Three’s “world-class messaging infrastructure and connectivity capabilities”.

    Three Director of Wholesale Lynda Burton said Nexmo’s “advanced approach to mobile” will enable companies of all sizes to send secure text messages using its network.

    She added: “We have made a significant investment in our network and wholesale platforms so we can provide great partnership opportunities to innovative companies such as Nexmo.”

    Around 80 percent of the OTT market partner with Nexmo, including Line and Viber for user acquisition and security, Pingdom for notifications for its web monitoring service, and Airbnb to connect with its guests securely.

    The company said more than 2.5 billion Cloud API calls were placed using the service last year.

    Nexmo CEO Tony Jamous commented: “We strive to ensure unsurpassed delivery of our services to any mobile devices around the world. Today’s partnership with Three further expands our capability to offer business critical cloud communication solutions for any messaging need.”
