    Netcracker announces new digital portfolio

    -

Vendor says it has 15 operators and enterprises – existing and new customers – are signed up for or already using its Netcracker 2020 solution.

They include Vodafone, Rakuten Mobile, Viasat, Telekom Austria and Swisscom, plus Bechtle, the largest IT system house in Germany.

Netcracker 2020 is a portfolio of Digital BSS/OSS and customer engagement products and services for the digital economy and era of 5G, built around microservices, whose launch has been delayed due to the pandemic.

The emphasis is on dynamic changes to partner ecosystems, automation, edge computing, the cloud (Netcracker has partnerships with AWS, Google and Microsoft)  and improved customer engagement.

    Open and secure

The vendor said that portfolio is “fully open and standards compliant, built for the cloud and allows service providers to develop their own enhancements or co-develop functions through a low code platform and blueprint delivery approach”.

The company also explains that is a security framework is central to Netcracker 2020, designed “to provide the highest level of proven system-wide security and privacy, which is critical in an era of increased cyber-attacks, intrusion and disruption”.

Netcracker 2020 draws on AI for customer engagement, anticipating their needs with contextual interactions – so not so much problem solving as figuring out what customers want or are going to do before they do and delivering new services themselves and through partners.

    Competitive

“As BSS/OSS becomes increasingly critical to assure customer experience and enable security and flexible services, Netcracker has strengthened its position as the leader in helping service providers succeed in the highly competitive digital economy,” noted Sue Rudd, Director Networks and Service Platforms at Strategy Analytics.

“Netcracker 2020 offers service providers a highly automated, multi-vendor microservices based environment to address their customers’ dynamic digital needs and sets the benchmark for modern BSS/OSS to accelerate revenue-generating service delivery in today’s uncertain world.”

Netcracker is a subsidiary of NEC, which earlier this week announced it is partnering Rakuten Mobile to develop the core for its virtualised cloud-native 5G network.
