Lithuania joins Telia’s Nordic and Baltic 5G Alliance

    -

The operator group has expanded its strategic partnership with Ericsson, adding a five-year network deal for Lithuania.

Ericsson is Telia’s sole 5G network infrastructure provider.

The deal follows previous regional announcements covering the deployment of 5G across Sweden and Estonia and Ericsson’s selection as Telia’s partner in Norway.

Ericsson will modernise about 2,000 mobile sites in the next three years, upgrading 4G and rolling out 5G.

The vendor claims the upgrade will make the network about five times more energy-efficient and will be powered by 100% renewable electricity.
