InfoVista is to bolster its network performance orchestration solutions portfolio with the acquisition of Acsom’s TEMS business.
TEMS’s network testing, monitoring and optimisation platform is used by the world’s “top 20” network operators, infrastructure providers and engineering service providers, InfoVista said. Its solutions track wireless networks, optimising performance and maintaining quality of service.
InfoVista said the acquisition, financial details of which were not disclosed, would help improve its network performance analytics products, indoor network design and optimisation and active service testing.
It said it was responding to the growing demand from operators to maximise the quality of their networks amid capex and opex constraints and while introducing technologies such as LTE, small cells, voice over LTE and 5G.
Philippe Ozanian, CEO, InfoVista, said: “TEMS is a well-established and well-respected business that already helps most of the world’s largest mobile network operators to manage and optimize the capacity and quality of their wireless networks.
“By bringing the TEMS portfolio into InfoVista, we are creating the most scalable, powerful and flexible platform for network performance orchestration to CSPs, mobile operators and enterprises.”
The acquisition is the latest in InfoVista’s recent spending spree, which has saw it snap up three other companies to help improve its network data and intelligence solutions.
The TEMS takeover will effectively see the company double in size, with new business expected to follow in the United States and Asia. It will be bolstered by around $200 million in sales.
In May, InfoVista was sold to private equity investment firm Apax Partners, with a view to improving its share of the network performance orchestration software market.
