DT and Ericsson announce a strategic partnership to jointly serve industrial enterprise customers with Campus Networks.
They want to address the growing market for industrial solutions based on cellular technology, and will support use cases on manufacturing shop floors, logistic centres, airports and harbours.
The idea is to combine public and private mobile networks to provide the best coverage, capacity and availability at the site and “in the wider area of activity”.
Benefits to customers
They claim customers will benefit from better security, efficiency and sustainability of operations.
Initially, the services will be based on LTE, working closely with customers and partners “to develop towards future-tailored services based on 5G features”.
The Campus Network technology will be complemented by other DT solutions like Wi-Fi, local network integration and IoT products.
The solutions will cover everything from consulting about the network itself, defining use cases and technical requirements, to implementation and secure operation.
Use cases will include autonomous transport of production materials, next-gen refinery and predictive maintenance.
