    Deutsche Telekom and Software AG partner for global IoT offer

    Deutsche Telekom and Software AG have signed an IoT made in Germany strategic partnership to expand their presence across the US, Germany and European markets.

    Deutsche Telekom’s enterprise customer unit, T-Systems, will use Cumulocity, Software AG’s IoT platform, as the foundation for its integrated Cloud of Things IoT platform, which allows companies to remotely monitor, manage and control their connected devices and machines.

    The German operator says that through the partnership with Software AG, the Cloud of Things platform will operate within a multi-cloud environment, giving it greater ability to scale quickly with customer demand and expand its capabilities with many new functional extensions, including streaming analytics, microservices and new protocols.

    New sectors

    These improvements could help Deutsche Telekom tap into entirely new verticals such as the smart home sector., said Adel Al-Saleh, CEO of T-Systems and Board Member of Deutsche Telekom.

    He commented, “We’re delighted to be extending the reach and capabilities of our Cloud of Things IoT platform alongside our partner. Software AG’s technology is critical in enabling us to scale an already successful service and introduce new functionality, giving us the confidence to move into new sectors.”
