It is now active in all provinces of the Netherlands
The Netherlands’ DELTA Fiber has acquired two other alternative fibre network providers, Glasvezel Zuidenveld and FiberFlevo/FiberNH. It now has a reach of more than 1.3 million households.
Under the DELTA and Caiway brands, the company supplies gigabit connections, interactive TV and fixed and mobile telephony to consumers and businesses, owned by the investment companies EQT and Stonepeak.
Fiberglass Zuidenveld is a residents’ initiative that, in the joint venture with Rendo, has installed fibre in the municipality of Coevorden which includes 37 hamlets and villages. FiberFlevo/FiberNH built a fibre network in the Noordoostpolder and in the north of North Holland.
Through these acquisitions, DELTA Fiber is adding about 23,000 households to its service area and is active in all provinces of the Netherlands.
2 million by 2025
“We are pleased that with these acquisitions we are taking the next step in realising our ambition to reach 2 million households by 2025,” says Michiel Admiraal, director of DELTA Fiber.
He adds, “Both Glasvezel Zuidenveld and FiberFlevo/FiberNH are, like us, mainly active in outlying areas and villages. In addition, the networks have been rolled out to the meter cupboard of homes connected to the network, making these acquisitions perfectly in line with our strategy to offer low-threshold fiber optic services to residents quickly.”
DELTA Fiber claims to be one of the fastest growing fiber providers in the Netherlands, reaching more than 1.3 million households and businesses and is growing by 8,000 connections a week.
European ranking
According to figures from the FTTH Council Europe, the Netherlands had passed about half of all Dutch households in September 2021.
