Our 12th annual CTO of the Year Awards return in 2025, and are once again proudly sponsored by Amdocs.
Entries are open to telecoms service providers of all types – altnets and incumbents, mobile and fixed, B2B and B2C, satellite and subsea, converged operators and cablecos, and more in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The CTO of the Year Awards are all about recognising the leadership skills of individuals, but are intended as a celebration of what they have achieved through the efforts of the teams they inspire.
In 2024, we have had the honour of presenting the Awards to:

Who can enter:
Note entrants can be CTOs or equivalent job title, such as CTIO or Head of Network within a country. People can nominate themselves, or be nominated by a colleague.
Please contact Tiffany AmorĂłs via tiffanya@sjpbusinessmedia.com if you have any questions.
There are two annual Awards, although in exceptional cases, the judges have the discretion to recognise further outstanding contributions.
We invite submissions for the CTO of the Year Awards 2025 in these two categories:
- THE TRAILBLAZER is someone who can demonstrate their organisation is offering services beyond connectivity or providing new kinds of connectivity – private networks or network slices, for example – or by enabling self-service. Or new revenue streams from leveraging other assets.
- THE GAMECHANGER is responsible for carrying out established core operations and business but not as usual – they should demonstrate how they are leveraging new technologies – such as AI, analytics, automation, open platforms and APIs – to gain what business advantages. Example could be reducing their energy consumption, improving customer service, cutting costs or reducing order to cash.
How to enter:
Please CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE ENTRY FORM and EMAIL IT TO US BY THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON Friday, 30th May 2025 following these simple guidelines:
- Make it personal: the entry must be about the individual. We are interested in the particular attributes, experience and approach they bring to their role, rather than about the company per se.
- Keep it short – 1200 words in total, please, choosing the boxes that are most appropriate for the nominee and adding others if necessary. You are welcome to include hyperlinks to brief supporting material.
- Please contact us with queries – we are here to help you make your entry as good as it can possibly be.
The judges will meet in closed session in June 2025 to draw up a shortlist and decide on the winners. Their decisions will be both impartial and final.
All entrants who make the shortlist will be invited to attend virtual discussion followed by Winners’ announcement on Tuesday, 9th September 2025.
Good luck!
