They will deploy a private 5G network at its SEGULA’s massive plant at Rodgau-Dudenhofen, Germany
Barcelona-based Cellnex Telecom has launched a partnership with the automotive branch of SEGULA Technologies, a global engineering group that specialises in service solutions for industrial sectors.
Deployed through Cellnex’s business unit EDZCOM, its edge business unit, the collaboration opens the door into the automotive sector for the tower and infrastructure company.
Cellnex will deploy a private 5G Network at the SEGULA’s’s German test centre located in Rodgau-Dudenhofen, using dedicated spectrum for low latency, security and data confidentiality.
The German telecom regulator, BNetzA, allocated spectrum for industries’ use as an adjunct to the 5G spectrum auction process for operators.
“Cellnex’s private 5G network established onsite [at] our proving ground in Rodgau-Dudenhofen is the ideal option that provides the opportunity to develop autonomous driving and V2X functionality in a real environment that is secure and reliable.
