Matthias Resatz will head the newly established business unit when it kicks off
A1 Group is pooling its resources and expertise in ICT services in Austria from the middle of the year and is launching a Business Delivery Centre (BDC) based in the country. Matthias Resatz will be joining the A1 team as senior director and head of the new BDC from 2 May and, as a member of the Austrian leadership team, will report directly to A1 Group CEO Alejandro Plater and A1 Austria CEO Marcus Grausam.
Resatz has 20 years of management experience in the IT industry and has worked at Nextira One, Dimension Data/NTT and Apple. Most recently, he was responsible for managed services at CANCOM Austria.
In recent years, A1 pointed out has achieved a growth rate of 19% in B2B Digital Services (ICT), growing six times faster than its core business – which is in contrast to many telcos which struggle to grow their enterprise units. Austria, Bulgaria and A1 Digital in particular contributed significantly to this growth, according to the operator. A key element of the corporate strategy is to expand the ICT business (B2B Digital Services) from around 10% today to 25% by 2030.
Software is the foundation of many companies’ business models, leading to a significant increase in the complexity of IT landscapes. This development presents A1 with an “enormous opportunity” to digitally transform business processes together with its customers. This ranges from smart connectivity and cloud infrastructure to secure IT environments.
This is the rationale behind why a Business Delivery Centre will be established in Austria for the entire group. The goal of this organisation is to develop standardised, scalable solutions for all A1 countries. In addition, customer-focused capabilities will be strengthened and expanded in every market in order to innovate together with customers and develop future-oriented solutions.
“We are already a leading provider of ICT solutions and IT infrastructure services for companies,” said A1 Group CEO Alejandro Plater. “By pooling our resources, we remain competitive with international players and can better leverage synergies across the Group.”
“I am delighted to welcome Matthias Resatz, an experienced expert, to head this unit at A1,” said A1 Austria CEO Marcus Grausam. “I am convinced that with this approach, we will successfully realise our growth potential and remain relevant to our customers in the future.”
A1 bolsters up fibre in Slovenia
Earlier this week, A1 Slovenija announced the completion of its acquisition of the telecommunications provider Peter’s Teleurh, which strengthened A1 the operator’s fibre optic infrastructure presence in the central Slovenia region. Through this acquisition A1 Slovenia will gain access to a fiber optic network in Ljubljana, as well as networks in Kranj, Domžale, and Trzin, and its own data center in Ljubljana.
“A1 Slovenija remains committed to developing advanced communication solutions that will make it possible for the company to effectively address the evolving needs of its users on this dynamic market and regulatory landscape,” said A1’s Plater.
