Huawei has signed a managed services agreement with Three UK to deliver service management and operations for Three’s core network, transport network and ICT applications. Huawei has selected TechMahindra as its ICT Partner to deliver the ICT applications management.
The agreement between Three and Huawei will see a number of permanent roles transfer to work for Huawei’s managed services business and Tech Mahindra for the ICT applications management.
Dave Dyson, Chief Executive Officer, Three UK said: ”The decision to select Huawei to manage core network operations follows a rigorous procurement process. We chose the partner that best met our requirements and which matched our long-term vision of how our network should be managed.
“This partnership is just one of a series that sees us enhance the capability of our Ultrafast network. The partnership means the existing team experience will continue to support the management of our core network.”
Victor Zhang, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei UK said: “Huawei is very pleased to be selected by Three for the operations management of its core network. We already work with Three in six markets internationally and today’s partnership extends that relationship to the UK. The agreement is an important step in building a world-class managed services capability. Huawei has been in the UK for eleven years and by focusing on the needs of our customers, we continue to develop and grow our business.”
Mr Zhang added: “I am also pleased that later this year we will be welcoming new employees to Huawei, the skills and experience they bring will be vital as we develop our managed services capability, as well as managing Three UK’s core network operations going forward.”
Earlier this year, Huawei announced a deal to manage O2’s core network in the UK.
