    HP expands capabilities of OneNFV Program

    HP has added new capabilities to its OneNFV Program to help reduce costs and improve agility for operators adopting Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV). 

    The solution now includes NFV Director 2.0, HP’s multivendor OSS for NFV orchestration, as well as full support for its OpenStack cloud architecture in compliance with ETSI specification.

    HP has also introduced new tools for implementing virtualised mobile cores. 

    Customers can chose from both HP and open third-party components when selecting end-to-end VNF solutions, including virtualised packet gateway, virtualised port channel and virtual PC centre. HP said this would help deliver full NFV-based mobile cores at lower cost and for “maximum scalability and adaptability.”

    Dedicated 4G/LTE Network Core is also supported, which HP claimed would allow services providers to better tailor network services and optimise their networks for IoT traffic.

    Additionally, a new virtualised HP API Management solution allows CSPs to capitalise on new revenue streams from cloud services via apps and “mashups” and accelerate the delivery of new cloud services. 

    Meanwhile, HP’s new WebRTC Gateway Controller enables content providers to facilitate new app integration through built-in browser interfaces.

    David Sliter, VP and general manager of HP Enterprise Services Communications and Media Solutions, said: “HP continues to demonstrate its leadership in delivering NFV solutions and these new capabilities are excellent examples of how customer connected innovation can yield meaningful solutions to CSP challenges, ahead of the ratification of standards.”
