    Sony Ericsson launches 2007 phone range

    Sony Ericsson has announced the handsets that will take it through the rest of 2007.

    At an event in London the manufacturer announced handsets ranging from the most corporate, 5th generation P-series smart phone, the P1i, to the clearly youth-focussed phones suc as the S500i and the T250i and T650i.
    25% smaller than P990i, the P1i supports a wide range of push email solutions (AlteXia, Ericsson Mobile Office, Intellisync, ActiveSync, BlackBerry Connect, Seven, Sybase/ iAnywhere,Visto) and Web browsing applications, plus connectivity via hi-speed UMTS and Wireless LAN.  It is based on the Symbian operating system (v9.1) and UIQ 3.0, and includes the Opera Web Browser 8.0 and a VPN client from Certicom. Available from Q3 2007.
    The T250i and the T650i are clearly from the same stable, with the  3G T650i offering a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus , and a 1.9-inch, “scratch-proof” screen. The T250i is a 2G phone offering the looks of the higher end phone with reduce finctionality and price. Both are available from Q3 2007.
    Finally, the S500i is a design-led 3G phone in green and yellow colours, with a 2 megapixel camera. The visuals on the desktop or phone menu can change automatically as the seasons pass or as day turns to night with hidden illumination appearing to highlight a certain event.
