The Middle Eastern powerhouse and Chinese vendor say this marks โ€œa significant step towards fostering innovation and collaborationโ€

The Middle Easten powerhouse, e&, which has headquarters in the United Arab Emirates and a presence in 38 countries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chinaโ€™s ZTE Corporation.

The press statement says, โ€œThis strategic partnership marks a significant step towards fostering innovation and collaboration in the telecommunications sectorโ€. An interesting statement in the light of many Western and other countries barring Chinese equipment from their 5G infrastructure due to security concerns.

Under this agreement, e& and ZTE are committed to collaborating on initiatives, including:

โ€ข Developing solutions for energy efficiency and sustainability across network infrastructure

โ€ข Designing 5G and 5G-Advanced (5G-A) solutions and exploring private network use cases to improve connectivity and efficiency

โ€ข Sharing knowledge about advances in 5G/5G-A private networks to stay at the forefront of technological developments

โ€ข Develop leadership through shared learning opportunities and initiatives.
