    e& and ZTE to collaborate on private 5G and 5G-A nets and sustainability

    The Middle Eastern powerhouse and Chinese vendor say this marks “a significant step towards fostering innovation and collaboration”

    The Middle Easten powerhouse, e&, which has headquarters in the United Arab Emirates and a presence in 38 countries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China’s ZTE Corporation.

    The press statement says, “This strategic partnership marks a significant step towards fostering innovation and collaboration in the telecommunications sector”. An interesting statement in the light of many Western and other countries barring Chinese equipment from their 5G infrastructure due to security concerns.

    Under this agreement, e& and ZTE are committed to collaborating on initiatives, including:

    • Developing solutions for energy efficiency and sustainability across network infrastructure

    • Designing 5G and 5G-Advanced (5G-A) solutions and exploring private network use cases to improve connectivity and efficiency

    • Sharing knowledge about advances in 5G/5G-A private networks to stay at the forefront of technological developments

    • Develop leadership through shared learning opportunities and initiatives.

We are dedicated to providing cutting-edge, energy-efficient solutions that support sustainable development and align with e&’s strategic goals for net-zero emissions and their ambition to become a globally leading technology group.”
