Orange has launched a new cyber security product to help enterprises protect mobile devices.
The Mobile Threat Protection service comes in the form of an app that runs in the background on a user’s device.
The service is designed to protect against a range of attacks, including apps infected with malware and operating system exploits.
It can also defend against “man-in-the-middle” attacks using compromised public networks such as Wi-Fi, as well as phishing links sent via SMS.
The product was built using Sandblast technology from Israeli cyber firm Check Point Software Technologies.
Enterprises can manage the installed base of devices through a dedicated administration dashboard. It can be deployed as a standalone managed service or integrated directly with existing enterprise device management solutions, including Orange’s Device Management Premium service.
Orange said the app, which works on both iOS and Android devices, will not impact device performance or battery life. The telco offers 24-hour support through its team of experts.

The Orange Cyberdefense unit brings together 1,000 experts worldwide across seven security operation centres.
Other operators with major security offerings include BT, which launched a device protection solution for SMEs in December last year.
