    Driving m-commerce

    -

Mobile commerce has often been the bridesmaid in recent years as other applications and services have taken the walk up the aisle at the front of the procession. But a burst of standards activity and increased content has meant that those in the industry are genuinely positive again. This year’s Mobile Content World and Wirleless Enterprise World should provide a good indication of just how positive we should be.

According to the organiser of Mobile Content World and Wireless Enterprise World, Terrapin, a lucrative new mobile economy is emerging in Europe. This economy is being driven at one end by a new breed of mobile consumers, hungry for funky, image defining products and services. At the other end, a dramatically changing business landscape has forced companies to become more nimble, more streamlined. Fierce competition combined with increased client needs and cost-saving requirements have led to the creation of the mobile enterprise.

Mobile Content World and Wireless Enterprise World have been developed to cater to both of these markets. Mobile Europe previews some of the events taking place at the exhibition and in the conference rooms.

Perhaps of all the applications (outside of ringtones) making their mark in the mobile content world, it is gaming that is attracting the largest development community. See the next big thing in wireless gaming as content developers’ present live demos of their latest games or applications. It’s then up to you, the audience to choose the best demo with an immediate SMS vote. Mobileway will power the live SMS voting.

Back by popular demand and exclusive to Mobile Content World in Europe, this is the only competitive showcase of digital video content for the new generation of mobile phones and PDAs. The creative entries you’ll see here fit not only the small screen size, but also the on-the-go nature of wireless mobile use. Rate the films, meet the filmmakers, and see the results of your vote when we announce the winners.
