Risborrow selects B2M mprodigy to deliver fully-featured mobile managed service

    -

Risborrow, an Information Technology Services Provider to blue chip clients such as Fujitsu, Royal Mail and the Ministry of Defence, has selected B2M Solutions and its mprodigy management platform to enable it to deliver a comprehensive managed service across its client's mobile deployments. Risborrow is now an Embedded Application mpartner with B2M Solutions which allows it to ship the mprodigy mobile management suite with every mobile device.

Jeremy Walker, Sales and Marketing Manager said, "B2M mprodigy is a highly strategic product for us – it is the key to enabling us to deliver a new level of support to our clients across the complete lifecycle of a mobile project. Before mprodigy, we found that we could offer only limited support to our customers – once the mobile devices left our office we lost all control.  We wanted to provide a premium service and we needed a system that would enable us to deliver a top tier mobility solution.  I'd seen other mobile management products but found they were expensive with considerable support issues and a lack of functionality.  B2M Solutions with its mprodigy software suite more than ticked the boxes in every category."

Using mprodigy, Risborrow now provides a managed service to the fleets of mobile devices used by it customers.  For example, Fujitsu uses Opticon H19 smartphones that are loaded with Risborrow's Sentinel application. Sentinel is an asset capture and deployment management system – it captures details of replacement and reissue of assets.

"The need for greater traceability was driven by financial institutions that required strict control and traceability of all computing assets," explained Walker.  "Sentinel, as its name implies, is designed to guard an organisation's data from being distributed to unauthorised people.  The software directs an engineer though the whole process of decommissioning and destroying computing equipment and they can't proceed until all tasks have been completed."

Risborrow uses mprodigy during the initial planning phase of a mobile project to ensure the optimum selection of equipment and to test the Sentinel application.  They then use mprodigy to deploy Sentinel to the full population of mobile devices, with updates being made fast over-the-air without having to bring devices back to base.

"One of the key benefits of mprodigy is that our support team has the ability to troubleshoot without having to get devices returned to the office," said Walker. "This also protects the end customers – these projects are time critical, so if a device breaks down at a customer site we can fix 99% of the issues whilst the device is in the field and the engineer can finish their vital job. We can provide a full managed service with total control over the devices – any place, any time and any where.  But it's not just about support, it's about managing the mobile project throughout its lifecycle from the initial planning and selection phase, through deployment, and then during the ongoing management of the equipment.  We've already seen considerable productivity gains using mprodigy and our next phase will be to use the management platform to measure and analyse the performance of the engineers to see where we can make even further improvements."
