Omnix Software launches Network Estates Management for mobile and fixed line operators

    -

Omnix Software, the UK-based provider of project automation software solutions for telecom infrastructure management, today announced the launch of its Network Estates Management (NEM) solution pack for mobile and fixed line network operators looking to closely manage and control site-based risk. The new NEM functionality extends the reach of the Omnix product line beyond acquisition and into the ongoing operational management of network sites to ensure that not one site is overlooked in a base of possibly several thousand.

Mis-management of network base station and other sites can lead to significant costs for the operator from simple human error such as missed dates, site replacement fees or legal action against compliance breaches. Loss of revenue and customer dissatisfaction from service interruption should also be taken into consideration by operators when assessing the business risk related to site assets.

Omnix NEM is said to have been specifically designed for the mobile and fixed line network operator. In addition to the standard lease management functionality associated with generic estates management systems, Omnix NEM offers a specialist understanding of network sites and how to construct the legal frameworks around them. It treats all property agreements as resources that are subject to availability and usage constraints, which may affect the viability of new sites or upgrades. As a result, network changes can now be planned with complete visibility of site conditions and restrictions, leading to greater certainty in project outcome and lower project and compliance risk.

Omnix NEM is positioned to manage all aspects of the property and site database, business-partner-agreements (such as leases, utilities, maintenance, site share, leased-lines), permits, health and safety and access. It has prescribed interfaces into the Enterprise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable solution for financial transaction processing.

When combined with the Omnix Network Programme Logistics (NPL) solution pack, NEM can provide a comprehensive cost management solution for both CAPEX and OPEX-driven network investments leading to better ROI decisions, claims Omnix.

William Tickner, CEO of Omnix Software, commented that: "Technology is a great enabler but what really matters is delivering tangible business benefit, in this case in the areas of operational resource efficiency and lower costs. We can achieve this by applying a deep understanding of the operational challenges network operators face to drive change and substantial improvements in business process performance. Ten years of specialist operator knowledge and experience differentiates Omnix Software from generic property or estates management systems."
