3GSM NEWS: Dilithium announces availability of VT-Ring

    -

Also announces new Video Value Added Services (VIVAS) solution

Dilithium, a leader in converged video solutions, has announced the availability of VT-Ring, said to be the world’s first video ringback tone solution for 3G, Broadband and IMS networks.

VT-Ring takes traditional ringback tones to new levels by combining video and audio content to provide a multimedia-rich experience. A VT-Ring subscriber can personalise the calling experience for the calling party by configuring a music video clip or their own video clip as their personalised ringback tone. Media clips can be subscriber defined for specific individuals, families, groups, or allow for automatic system selection of media. A large library of pre-defined content and clips is available along with the ability of subscribers to create their own multimedia content.

Built upon the platforms serving the world’s most advanced ringback and ringtone market in Korea, the VT-Ring solution incorporates an extremely scaleable, flexible and telco-grade architecture that can fulfill the demands of millions of subscribers in any given market.

VT-Ring incorporates many of Dilithium patented technologies. It incorporates Unicoding technology that significantly reduces audio and video delays; Mona (Media Oriented Negotiation Acceleration), which decreases the session setup time comparable to those of voice calls; and delayed charging capability that allows delivery of free media during call set up time.

“The market reaction and our customers feedback have been very positive about our VT-Ring solution enhancing the video calling experience,” said Mitch Lewis, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Dilithium Networks. “Traditional applications such as wallpapers, screen savers, and audio ringback tones have transformed communication devices into an important medium for personal self-expression. The next logical step is video and multimedia such as music videos and user generated content. Our VT-Ring solution will bring this personal self-expression to the next level by allowing subscribers to easily create and display truly personal contents and generate additional revenues for operators.”

VT-Ring is a highly scalable solution jointly developed by Dilithium Networks and SK C&C, a subsidiary of SK Telecom of Republic of Korea.

VT-Ring is available now. Dilithium will demonstrate VT-Ring at the 3GSM World Congress 2007 at Hall 2 2B33 from February 12-15, 2007.

    * In a separate announcement, Dilithium has highlighted the availability of its Video Value Added Services (VIVAS) solution.

ViVAS facilitates development and deployment of enhanced interactive video services such as Live TV, Video Portal, Video Blogging, Video Push Services, Video Interactive Portal, Video Streaming, Video Call Completion to Voice, and a host of other applications. Several customisable applications are available for immediate deployment, allowing operators, content providers, and aggregators to introduce revenue generating interactive video solutions.

ViVAS is an IMS-ready hardware and software solution that provides reliable real-time streaming of video content to and from mobile wireless devices, broadband, and SIP clients. Dilithium’s ViVAS solution includes a media server, SIP server, industry leading DTG multimedia gateway, and a comprehensive service creation environment.

Video content can be rapidly created using a graphical user interface and PHP scripting. This provides an easy to use, drag and drop approach to creating interactive DTMF based video portals, and linking from menus and portals to revenue generating RTSP video streaming services. ViVAS is compatible with all major voice and video standards used in 3G mobile and IP networks and provides a SIP-based environment for hosting video applications accessible from any SIP or mobile devices.

“We are pleased to announce the release of our Video Value Added Services solution. Our ViVAS solution dramatically accelerates the creation, development, and delivery of video content across converged networks. Our goal is to facilitate the rapid take up of multimedia services by end customers and generate additional revenues for operators,” said Mitch Lewis, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Dilithium.
