Nokia’s average selling price slightly up on forecasts

Shifts fewer low end devices than it thought

Nokia says its average selling price for handsets was slightly higher than it expected during the first quarter of 2006. The increase in average selling price was because Nokia sold fewer entry level and lower end devices than it expected.

The vendor’s device average selling price (ASP) in the first quarter of 2006 was EUR103. Previously, Nokia estimated that its device ASPs in the first quarter would be flat to slightly down sequentially. Nokia device ASP in the fourth quarter of 2005 was EUR 99.
