Bango launches app purchasing tracker for mobile operators

    -

Operators will be able to track their customers’ app purchases, following the launch of a new dashboard feature from m-payments and analytics company Bango.

The vendor helps operators to offer direct billing to its customers, so purchases made on an app store are charged to their mobile phone bill. The company already works with Google Play, Amazon, Facebook, BlackBerry World, Windows Phone Store and Firefox Marketplace.

However, it said that until now, operators were unable to easily record information about what their customers are buying.

The dashboard will allow operators to measure and compare app store relationships, manage billing systems and understand consumer behaviour and purchases.

Bango added that the product would allow operators to track purchases across all connected app stores, although the app store provider has final control on precisely what information can be disclosed.

The dashboard will be offered on a subscription basis, with the entry level product as basic “executive view”. While it can immediately track purchases made using Bango Payment, it can be extended to track other merchant payments of third party billing.
